Our Story

Every family has a story.

The Edmond Foundation began with a simple belief: strong families create stronger communities.

Our family’s story traces back to Louis and Annette Edmond, who were married in Southampton County, Virginia, in 1882. For generations, our family has valued education, service, perseverance, and helping others build better lives.

Since 1975, the Edmond Family Reunion has brought generations together to celebrate our heritage, strengthen family connections, and encourage future leaders. Over time, those gatherings reinforced an important lesson: every generation has an opportunity to leave the next one better prepared for success.

That belief inspired the Edmond Foundation.

While our Foundation is rooted in one family’s history, our mission extends far beyond it. We partner with organizations that equip individuals and families with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to become self-advocates and build lasting stability and opportunity.

Because when families are empowered, communities grow stronger.

Mission

To empower individuals and families to become self-advocates who build lasting stability and opportunity through education, health literacy, and financial acumen.
